Once upon a time all you needed was pen and paper and a knack with languages.
Experience and a good memory were invaluable. Today, in the 21
st
century, the modern translator will utilize the computer and a program called
Computer Assisted Translation to do this. The program will recall all similar
work done in the past, call up the terms used or provided by the client.
We have experience with the major programs, as
well as certification from Kilgray Ltd. as a trainer for their translation
program, memoQ. This CAT is more intuitive than many others and is fast
becoming the most popular one for any translator new to computers and
translation software. In Israel, it is the program of choice. We have many former
students who have become adept with the program and have expanded their
translation work into a successful business.
